28/08/10 - Paul Shallicker finishes 7th in very windy conditions during the Congleton CC 50 mile TT with a time of 2:00:24. John Gibson continued to show late season form finishing 13th with a fine 2:04:34.
25/08/10 - Danny Burrows finished 3rd in the St Helens Inter Club 10 mile TT in a time of 21:57, held on the Rainford Bypass taking some quality scalps in the process...Results
24/08/10 - Paul Shallicker finishes 4th with a time of 58.17 in the MC and NW VTTA 25 mile TT on the lumpy J2/5 in Wet and Windy conditions. Winner was Mike Cummings from Raleigh in 54.32
08/08/10 - Paul Shallicker WINS the East Liverpool Whs 50 mile TT by 2 mins with a time of 1:56:54 for the distance. Jonny Gibbo (2:04:56) and Danny Burrows (2:00:43) help him sweep up the team prize also with a couple of fine rides. They also retain the Large Armstrong Shield for the 2nd year running.
25/07/10 - Paul Shallicker finishes 3rd overall in the Lancashire RC 25 mile TT with a time of 56 mins 48 seconds, with Chris Dursley also going under the hour for the distance in a time of 59 mins 17 Secs.
24/07/10 - Paul Shallicker rode the Warrington RC 25 mile TT on the lumpy J2/9 course finishing 5th overall in a time of 56 mins, 39 secs.
17/07/10 - Danny Burrows and Paul Shallicker rode the M&DTTA 50 Mile TT where Danny went under 2 hrs in 1.59.59 and Paul finsihed top 10 in a time of 1.57.24
10/07/10 - The Border City Wheelers 10 mile TT on Levens saw Danny Burrows clocking an amazing 20.35 and a new PB for the distance. Paul Shallicker broke a pedal before the start but still managed to clock 21.20, dispite riding in borrowed shoes. John Gibson was set for a 21 when he blew with 2 miles to go but still managed a 22.15.
03/07/10 - Belper BC 25 mile TT at Derby saw some very fast times with Paul Shallicker clocking 53.34 and Danny Burrows setting a PB with his time of 54.43
30/06/10 - Craig Eden continued to clock up points towards his 2nd Cat licence by finishing 7th overall at Litherland.
26/06/10 - NLTTA 100 mile TT saw some epic rides from the Coveryourcar Team. On a scorching hot day and on a tough course Paul Shallicker finished a fine 3rd over all with a time of 3hrs 59 mins with John Gibson ( still riding with broken collar bone ) clocking 4 hrs 20 mins. 20/06/10 - Great ride by the team in the Kent Valley 25 mile TT which saw Paul Shallicker top 10 yet again with 55:35. Team mates Danny Burrows (56:41) and Chris Dursley (57:06) where close on his heels.
23/06/10 - Craig Eden rode a fine race to finish 3rd in the Litherland Circuit Race tonight for 2 ,3 & 4th cats.
Rider of the Month Award for May goes to Chris Dursley who wins £100 worth of goodies, well done Chris.
20/06/10 - Craig Eden rode well in the Horwich Town Carnival Race Event. A break went with about 16 laps to go, and Craig missed it. Dispite this he tried to bridge the gap on his own but was stuck in no mans land for several laps. Swallowed up by the bunch he managed 3rd in bunch sprint and 9th overall.
20/06/10 - Great ride by the team in the Kent Valley 25 mile TT which saw Paul Shallicker top 10 yet again with 55:35. Team mates Danny Burrows (56:41) and Chris Dursley (57:06) where close on his heels.
19/06/10 - Hard Man and general tough guy, John Gibson clocked a fine 1:00:35 in the Duckinfield 25 mile TT on the J2/9, dispite riding with a Broken Collar Bone.

28/03/10 - Mixed fortunes by the team in the Border City Wheelers SPOCO 25 on a tough windy day. Paul Shallicker was best with 3rd place overall with a short 59, Danny Burrows punctured with a mile to go whilest on for a top 3 finish, John Gibson missed his start but still managed a 1.3, and Greg Lunt riding his first 25 in 5 years clocked a 1.6 dispite missing the turn.
27/03/10 - Paul Shallicker rode the West Pennine Hilly 15 mile TT finishing 7th overall with a time of 36.38 in a class field.
20 & 21/3/10 - More great results this weekend by the team, with John Bellamy and Paul Shallicker finishing 3rd in the VTTA 2up 10 mile TT on Brock with a time of 21.53 . Chris Dursley and John Gibson clocked 22.34 dispite missing their start.

Craig Eden rode strongly in the Preston GP Road Race on Sunday where he broke away with another rider with 14k to go. They stayed away until the final kilometer so unlucky again.

John Bellamy took part in the Northwest Sprint Triathlon Championships at Nantwich ( his first ever Triathlon ) where his time of 1:07:21 was good enough for 2nd in his age group and 20th overall out of over 1000 competitors.

With the racing season drawing to a close we are currently organising some things for the coming months to keep us out of mischief. They include a Road weekend in N Wales end of September and a weeks training in Lanzarote at one of our Villas early next year ( 20th Feb )

Dave Jones Crash Update : After a 6 hour operation to fix his leg, Dave was sent home from hospital but had to return due to an infection. He is once again out of hospital with large amounts of scaffolding in and around his left leg. Knowing Dave he will be out on his bike before you know it and we all wish him well.

Both Dave Jones and John Gibson from Team CoverYourCar were in action during the Chester RC Hilly 14 mile time trail, early season lung opener. A superb ride by both saw them finish top 10 at the final.

Craig Eden from Team CoverYourCar was in action today in the 48th edition of the Eddie Soens Memorial Cycle Race. A large field of over 100 riders, which included many of the country's very best Elite Teams. A break managed to pry itself off the front of the bunch, from which Halfords rider Ed Clancy snatched victory. Craig rode strongly throughout the race, finishing in the main pack at the line, a feat in inself amongst such a quality competition. For the full race report click here
Dave Jones and John Gibson were in action again, riding the far from flat 10 mile J2/3 course near Jodrell Bank in Cheshire. In dry but blustery conditions, offering the riders a tailwind out but headwind back, Dave finished 10th in 23.58 and John 11th in 24.07 out of a field of 80 riders, so another good showing at a very early point in the season. Winner was as per last week, John Morgan in 21.46

Dave Jones and John Gibson were back for more punishment again this week on the J2/3 course again. In gale force winds Dave finished 12th with 24:09 and John 14th with 24.16 on a day when everyone went backwards time wise.
On the Sunday Dave rode the Maxgear League Road Race (event 2) at Saighton near Chester. On a course that usually ends in a bunch sprint ( like this race did ) he attacked and broke away with two other riders but a puncture brought his spirited ride to an early end.

Congratulations to Dave Jones who collected his certificate yesterday for finishing 4th in last years Merseyside Middle Distance Best All Rounder Competition while riding for us. A former winner of full distance comp which includes a 12hr Dave hopes for a similar performance this year.
The team took part in the Merseyside Ladies 10 at Pulford early Sunday morning. In blustery conditions, John Bellamy finished top 10 in 22:39 in his first ride of the year. John Gibson 23:00 ( after just missing out on going under the hr by seconds on a J course the previous day ). Dave Jones 23:05, Craig ( The Roadie ) Eden clocked 25:09 in what was "the worst tt of his life", and Greg Lunt rode round to finish in a 25:28 after suffering a gear cable snapping in the first mile. ( If I could sack the mechanic I would )

On a wild day in Cheshire, The Team were in action on the "sporting" J2/3 10 mile TT course competing in the Manchester and District TTA event. Riders braved hail, gales and torrential rain on a day that saw many riders pack up and go home without even turning a pedal. With three fine performances by John Bellamy (7th), Alex Royle (9th) and John Gibson the team took BOTH team prizes and Alex finished fastest Juvenile.

Alex Royle clocked a superb 59:48 on Saturday in the Withington Whs 25 mile time trial on the lumpy J2/9 in Cheshire taking the fastest Juvenile award and finishing top 10 overall.
Craig Eden and Greg Lunt were in action on the pothole riddled circuit of Pimbo at Skelmersdale on Sunday in the Merseyside Wheelers 85km Road Race. Both rode well but missed the decisive break of 9 riders that went mid way through the race and finished in the pack. (80 riders started the event)
The team was also well represented riding in N Wales, (Pulford) in the West Cheshire TTCA 10 mile time trial. Three superb rides saw the team narrowly miss the team prize by a few seconds. Alex Royle took the fastest Juvenile prize with another super fast ride. Times were consistant fast man John Bellamy with 22:01, Alex Royle 22:14 and John Gibson 22:17.

Hardmen John Gibson and Nathan Harrison rode the Buxton Hilly 33 mile time trial in Derbyshire which features 1 in 6 climbs and 50+mph descents. Out of 100 riders, Nathan finished 13th in 1:36.43 and John Gibson 26th in 1:36.43 in an race described by John as "Pure Hell, but a Great Event!" 11th April 2009
John Bellamy was the sole representative for the Team in the Macclesfield Wheelers 25 mile time trial on another rolling J course in Cheshire. Consistant as ever John produced a superb ride of 58.28 to finish 5th vet and 10th overall. 12th April 2009
Rudy Project TT Series, Event 2
Star of the present and future Alex Royle rode in the 2nd event of the National Rudy Project Time Trial Series where dispite being classed as a Juvenile (15) he was competing against Juniors in this category. In this 15 mile time trial, Alex was narrowly pipped to overall victory by just 8 seconds by Herbalife sponsored Junior Jonathan Knox. Full Result
Craig Eden took part in the Maurice's Denbigh Road Race for 2,3 and 4th cat riders, taking in 65 miles of the Welsh countryside. Craig finished top 24th despite there being a bad crash in the last mile and a break slipping away late on in the race. Full Report

Alex and John Gibson were in action again on the bank holiday Monday in the Abbotsford Park RC 10 on the J2/1. An amazing ride by Alex again saw him winning his group and finishing 6th overall in a time of 22.12, just 42 seconds off the win. John also put in a great ride, finishing 14th with 23.10 -Full Result

John Bellamy was in action again riding the VTTA (Mcr & NW Group) 10 mile time trial where dispite having a throat infection he finished a superb 5th with a time of 22.51 for the distance...Full Result
Friday 19th April
Craig Eden and Nathan Harrison rode the Elites/1/2/3 Road Race at Elswick near Preston, Lancs on Sunday. Nathan was unfortunate to puncture on the first lap and Craig pulled up with lower back pain after riding well through most of the race.
Saturday 25th April
John Gibson was in action again in Cheshire on the J2/1 course. Taking part in the mens competition of the Manchester Invitation 10 mile test, John finished in 7th place with a superb 23.05. Winner was Dave Crawley 21:33.
Sunday 26th April
Craig Eden rode the tough Old Hutton Circuit in the 5th Event of the CDNW Road Race Series. A hard race saw nine riders go clear to take the points but Craig finished a fine 3rd place in the bunch, giving him 12th overall. Full Result and Photos of Craig in Action
The testers were in action again riding the sporting and rolling Wigan Whs 30 mile time trial. On a dry day with a niggly headwind finish, CoverYourCar rider John Bellamy finished once again inside the top ten overall with a time of 1.12.07, with John Gibson close behind in 14th, 1:12.35 and Alex Royle 17th in 1:13.00. Alex Royle continued his run of amazing form finishing 13th overall and top Juvenile / Junior in the Derby Mercury RC 10. At only 15 years of age Alex is now right up there with some of the UKs best senior testers and his time of 21.27 in this event reflects that. The event was won by Richard Bradley in an amazing 19.59!...Full Result

John Bellamy produced another fine performance in the VTTA 10 mile time trial on the L101 near Garstang, finishing 4th overall with his time of 22:56 on a very windy afternoon. John was just 36 seconds away from the winner, Paul Grindley ( Liverpool Century )
Sat 9th May
John Bellamy, Dave Jones, John Gibson and Greg Lunt were due to ride the Leigh Premier 10 mile TT on the Rainford bypass but it was cancelled due to roadworks on the course.
No such problems for Alex Royle who won the Juvenile / Junior Prize in the Cleveleys RC 10. The event was won overall by Mark Holton with 19:45, with Alex clocking 21:20 and finishing 6th overall.
Sunday 10th May
Craig Eden rode well in the 44 mile Trough of Bowland Road Race. Showing that his form is returning, he attacked at least once on every lap but couldnt make anything stick. He then got away in a group of 6 with 11 mile to go which worked well together. This break got a decent gap, but was caught by the peloton with about a mile to go. Fri 15th May
John Bellamy took part in the National Emergency Services Triathlon Championships held at The National Watersports Centre, Nottingham as part of the Team Relay. Part of a team of three John was riding the bike leg and stormed the distance (20k) to set his team up for the win...Pic of Winning Team
Sat 16th May
Alex Royle travelled south to the Lea Valley 10 in pursuit of cracking the National Juvenile TT Record for this distance which stands at 20:14. If the conditions had been half decent he may well have cracked it but with a terrible Easterly wind blowing a gale it was going to be a tough ask. Despite this Alex did a 21:30 and finished 5th overall winning both the Junior prize and finishing 2nd in the Handicap. Winner was national champion Michael Hutchinson won with 19:16.
Dave Jones rode the Stone Whs 25 mile TT and clocked 57:22. Dave said he "was not happy and felt crap" during the ride having done a 54 on this course last year.
John Gibson continued his run of good form by finishing 11th in the ABC Centreville 10 mile TT with a time of 23:26 on a tough day.

John Gibson and Dave Jones rode the Merseyside Wheelers Jim Soens “25” mile time trial held on the D25/3 Melling/Bickerstaffe/Rainford Course. On a tough day with a very strong South-Easterly wind John finished in tenth place with a great ride of 58:54 and Dave not far behind in a time just over the hour. Event was won by Andrew Alan (New Brighton) in a time of 57:08

15 year old Alex Royle travelled to East Yorkshire in pursuit of a fast ten time on the V718 course, promoted by City RC. Alex clocked an amazing 20.49 for the distance, just 36 seconds off the National Juvenile Record.
John Bellamy was in action again riding the Ribble Valley 10 mile time trial on brock near Garstang (L101). John would have finished 4th overall with a superb 22.36, but he missed his start by 20 seconds, still good enough for a top ten though.

Alex Royle rode the Dukinfield CC 25 mile TT on the J2/9 and finished a superb 2nd overall with a time of 55:23, only 18 seconds away from the win. Fastest was Andrew Allen ( New Brighton CC) with 55:05.
Sun 24th
John Gibson rode the Rhyl CC 37 mile Mountain time trial and was going well until a puncture with ten miles to go scuppered his chances of a top 10 finish. He rode on the flat tub to finish 14th with a time of 1hr 49mins.

Chris Dursley officially joins the Coveryourcar.co.uk Team Today taking us to 8 riders.
Sat 30th
Three members of the team rode the VTTA 50 mile time trial on the J5/12 in Cheshire on a very hot Saturday. Dave Jones is an old hand at this distance and proved as much by finishing in a time of 1:56:20, with both John Gibson (1:58) and John Bellamy (1:59) going under 2 hrs for the distance in what was their first time ever at this distance.

Craig Eden rode the North West Divisional Road Race Championships on a very hot and sticky day which saw him ride well and finish in 18th place at the final.

John Bellamy rode the North Lancs 25 Mile TT on a blustery Wednesday evening at Cockerham where he finished in 8th place with his time of 59.26.
Thurs 4th June
Nathan Harrison rode his first event after recently being knocked off his bike by a car. Still bruised from the accident, Nathan rode his local club 10 mile time trial near Buxton in Derbyshire and clocked a superb time of 21.15 finishing 2nd ( on his training bike ).
15 year old Alex Royle rode in the East Bradford 10 mile Time Trial at Tadcaster and clocked a super fast and PB time of 20:14, just One Second off the National Competition Record for a Juvenile of 20:13. He finished in 2nd place on the night, the event was won by Julian Ramsbottom with 19:45. Today we welcome new team member Paul Shallicker to Coveryourcar.co.uk RT. Paul was in action today competing with team mates Dave Jones and John Gibson in the Liverpool Century 10mile TT on the Rainford Bypass where they narrowly missed the team prize by a few seconds. Times were Paul 22.21, Dave 22:47 and John 23:01

NEWSFLASH : Alex Royle took part in the Regional Qualifier for the GHS 10 mile National Championships on the J2/1 where he won the event outright in a time of 21:05 continuing his run of blistering form after breaking the competition Juvenile record last weekend.

Alex Royle ventured over to the V718 to ride another quick ten, clocking 20:05, just 9 seconds outside his own competition record to finish 6th overall behind winner M. Hutchinson in 18:11
John Bellamy rode the West Cheshire TTCA 10 mile time trial on the Pulford course near Chester and clocked a seasons best time of 21.46.

Three of the team rode the 25 mile equvalent on the Sunday in the Kent Valley 25 on Levans. Alex Royle was on fire again finishing third overall in an amazing time of 54.34, just 15 seconds off the win. He would have won the event had his chain not come off and loosing a minute having to stop and put it back on. Chris Dursley, who gets faster each time he rides clocked a seasons best 58:20 with John Bellamy clocking 58:58, bringing the the team home in 1st place yet again this season.Full Result

Westmead Team 88 10 mile TT - John Bellamy clocked 22.36 to finish 7th overall on a hot, sticky evening on the J2/1 course near Knutsford, Cheshire with new boy Chris Dursley finishing tenth in a time of 22.53.

Chris Dursley rode the Phoenix CC 25 mile TT on the Rainford Bypass course and clocked a fine 58.35 to finish inside the top 10 yet again.

Sunday saw three of the team in action in N Wales on the Wrexham (D25/16) by pass in the BNECC 25 mile time trial. Fastest of the team was Paul Shallicker who clocked 56.24 with John Bellamy 58.33 and John Gibson 59.06, all three under the hour on a windy day that was all headwind to the turn.
Having just turned Junior, Alex Royle rode the CDNW Road Race on the Pimbo Circuit at Skelmersdale, riding his new Colnago in anger for the first time. Alex rode well and seemed to be on the front continually, finishing in the bunch at the final, on a circuit where it's difficult to brake away.

Alex Royle rode the Wills Wheels 2up ten mile time trial with Leigh Premier fast man Nathan Turnbull. The pair narrowly missed the win by just 4 seconds with their time of 21.23. Nathan Harrison also rode with Chester Hill from V.C. St Raphael and the pair clocked 23.00 for 12th place.

Paul Shallicker finished 2rd overall in the East Liverpool Whs 50 mile TT on the lumpy Broxton course with a time of 1:56:51. Coveryourcar.co.uk RT win the Team Trophy with John Gibson clocking 2:05:16 and Chris Dursley 2:11:00 ( with a ten minute late start!!! )

Nathan Harrison rode the Buxton CC 'Long Hill' hill climb this evening and clocked a 14:37:00, good enough for 3rd place behind winner Sam Clarke who did a 14:07:00.

Seamons CC 25 mile time trial (Goostrey circuit) on a blustery day which saw all riders struggling, saw Paul Shallicker from Coveryourcar.co.uk RT finishing in 8th place with a time of 57.57. Chris Dursley showed he is on form with a 58.54 and John Gibson narrowly missed going under the hour wth 1:0048. We were beaten for the team prize by just a few seconds.

John Bellamy took part in the Northwest Sprint Triathlon Championships at Nantwich ( his first ever Triathlon ) where his time of 1:07:21 was good enough for 2nd in his age group and 20th overall out of over 1000 competitors.

Craig Eden rode strongly in the Preston GP Road Race on Sunday where he broke away with another rider with 14k to go. They stayed away until the final kilometer so unlucky again.
